Hizbul Mujaheedin militant surrenders in Jammu and Kashmir

Liaqat Hussain, a member of militant outfit Hizbul Mujaheedin, surrendered in the presence of his wife in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday. During the year 1999 the militant crossed the border via Copera post towards Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) to become a militant and joined Hizbul camp. The militant along with his family including three children was apprehended on Kireni border while crossing towards India. The surrendered militant said that a citizen is safe in his or her own country and that is the reason why he came back to India.
