IIT faculty to go on hunger strike over pay package

Over 1,000 teachers of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) would go on a hunger strike on Thursday to protest the anomalies in the recently announced pay structure. The decision putting the faculty on a collision course with the government was taken at a meeting of its federation at IIT Kharagpur's extension centre in Kolkata on Monday.
