India's Green House Gas emissions up by 58 percent from 1994 - 2007
Ministry of Environment and Forests in New Delhi on Tuesday released its first assessment on Green House Gas Emission for the year 2007 showing the emission of Green House Gases (GHG) has increased by 58 per cent between the years 1994 and 2007. To mark the release of this report, a national Workshop of the Indian Network for Climate Change Assessment (INCCA) was organised. On the occasion, the latest issue of a periodical dedicated to environment titled Pramana was also launched. Present on the occasion Jairam Ramesh said that India should bring out such reports from time to time, to monitor and maintain a control on emissions in a better way.
