New Delhi recorded its coldest day on 1st January

With the minimum temperature below 5 degrees Celsius, New Delhi recorded its coldest day on the first day of the new year. The chilly weather was accompanied with a thick layer of fog which hampered transportation by delaying approximately 24 trains of Northern Railway.
