Pak floods may enter Sindh, people evacuate

Evacuation continued in Pakistan's southern Sindh province where floods are expected to reach in coming few days. The flood catastrophe, which started almost a week ago, has killed more than 1,400 people and affected more than three million in the country. A rapid assessment carried out by the UN World Food Programme in four districts -- Nowshera, Charsadda, Mardan and Peshawar -- puts the figure of people who have lost their homes or are temporarily displaced at nearly 980,000.Around 80,000 homes in the four districts have been totally inundated and more than 50,000 have been damaged by the floods.
