Petrol price hike, oil companies prerogative: Pranab

Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Monday defended the Congress party-led central government over the price hike of petrol. Speaking to reporters in New Delhi, Mukherjee said the decision of increasing the prices was taken by oil companies after the government deregulated fuel prices in 2010 to boost inflation.
