PM applauds budget, calls for accelerated growth tempo

Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh on Thursday said that the country must not lose any time and get its act together to accelerate the tempo of growth after finance minister P Chidambaram presented a budget with higher-than-expected spending for fiscal 2013-14. Speaking to a reporter after the budget was presented, Singh said that Chidambaram had laid out a roadmap to achieve the eight percent growth rate.
