PM, judiciary should be kept out of Lokpal: Legal luminaries

A conference on Lokpal on Sunday felt that higher judiciary should be kept out of the proposed law against corruption but was divided on bringing the Prime Minister under its ambit. Two former chief justices of Supreme Court and four members of the Lokpal drafting committee including retired apex court judge Santosh Hegde took part in the deliberations. The ten member panel, comprising ten representatives, - five each from the government and the civil society representatives, was formed this month in the wake of an agitation by veteran social activist Anna Hazare.
