Rajya Sabha approves food security bill

The Rajya Sabha on Monday approved the food security bill which seeks to provide highly subsidised food grains to two-thirds of the country's population. Last week, the Lok Sabha had passed it. Now, the bill needs President Pranab Mukherjee's assent before it becomes law.
