SC's verdict on Cauvery water sharing faces stiff protest

The protest against the Supreme Court's direction to Karnataka to share water of the Cauvery with neighbouring Tamil Nadu intensified with protestors blocking roads as mark of their protest. The apex court has directed the Karnataka government to release 9,000 cusecs water of River Cauvery from Krishnaraja Sagar Reservoir (KRS) to the neighbouring state of Tamil Nadu.
