Shutdown in Kashmir against fuel price hike

Life in Kashmir has come to a standstill as transporters have called for a four-day strike against the hike in fuel prices. The transporters are demanding the provincial government to raise the passenger fares. In Srinagar, schools, offices and other establishments remained shut on Monday due to the strike. Buses, taxis and other commercial vehicles stayed off the streets, causing considerable inconvenience to the residents.
