Trade union activists protest against spiraling prices

Thousands of activists from India's trade unions marched through the streets of New Delhi today, protesting government's inaction in controlling sharp escalation in food and fuel prices. At least 50,000 trade union activists, including those from a group linked to ruling Congress Party, participated in the demonstration, which, as per certain media reports, was one of the largest anti-government protests in recent years.
