Travel agents prepare to charge transaction fee

Air passengers will now have to shell out more money for travel. This is due to the refusal of the domestic carriers to retain the 5% agency commission from 1 November. Instead, travel agents are now planning to impose a transaction fee on every ticket sold. The nature and quantum of this transaction fee will be decided in a joint meeting by travel agents and airline representatives next week.
