Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 10 runs. After a brisk fifty by debutant Devdutt Padikkal, and a late flourish from AB de Villiers, who scored 51 off 30 balls, RCB posted 163/8 in 20 overs against SRH. Jonny Bairstow got off to a good start and stitched a solid partnership with Manish Pandey in the 164-run chase. But Yuzvendra Chahal dismissed both Pandey and Bairstow in quick succession. SRH suffered a batting-order collapse following Bairstow's dismissal and were bundled out for 153. RCB picked up the first win of the season.
