J&K police confirm accidental blast at Nowgam police station, say 'avoid unnecessary speculation'

A major tragedy struck Srinagar on the night of November 14 when an accidental explosion occurred near Nowgam Police Station during the forensic inspection of a huge cache of explosives and chemicals recovered from Faridabad as part of an ongoing terror probe. Jammu & Kashmir DGP Nalin Prabhat confirmed that the substances—highly unstable and sensitive—had been stored securely, but the sampling process by the Forensic Science Laboratory team resulted in an unexpected blast at around 11:20 PM.
