A 4.3-magnitude earthquake struck the Iranian city of Gerash on March 3, according to the U.S. Geological Survey, with the tremor hitting at a depth of 10 km. The jolt came amid soaring regional tensions days after reported U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran, fuelling speculation online. In February 2025, Iran recorded 99 earthquakes in a single week, including tremors affecting Isfahan, home to key nuclear facilities such as Natanz.
