Turkey will likely be excluded from the planned 5,000-strong stabilization force to be deployed in Gaza, after Israel made clear it does not want Turkish troops involved. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that Israel’s approval of the participating nations is a key condition for the multinational force, which will aim to prevent a security vacuum once reconstruction efforts in Gaza begin. Although Turkey has expressed willingness to contribute troops, Israel has reportedly opposed their participation.
