The Delhi Police has sounded an alert across the national capital after the horrific murder of a tailor in Rajasthan's Udaipur. The number of personnel stationed across Delhi, especially in areas populated by both Hindus and Muslims have been increased. A senior police officer from northwest Delhi said that most personnel are stationed in Jahangirpuri, where clashes broke out between Hindus and Muslims on April 16. Police have taken similar precautionary steps in the Walled City and in south Delhi’s Jamia Nagar, Okhla and Shaheen Bagh. Cyber police stations across the Capital have also been asked to intensify social media monitoring and flag posts, images and videos with the potential to inflame communal tension.
