Army jawan killed in gunfight during encounter with terrorists in J&K's Pulwama

An Indian Army soldier was killed during an encounter with terrorists in J&K's Pulwama. Army, CRPF & Pulwama Police cornered the terrorists in Pulwama's Hanjin Rajpora area. Officials said that the Pulwama encounter saw heavy firing from both sides. A jawan, who was injured in the initial exchange of firing, was rushed to a hospital. Officials added that the soldier succumbed to injuries at the hospital in Kashmir. A search operation, reportedly launched in the area by joint forces, triggered gunfight. Officials said the search & cordon operation was conducted based on intelligence inputs. Soon after security forces reached the suspected hideout, terrorists opened fire on them. The security forces then took the lead & retaliated with heavy gunfire. As many as three to four terrorists are believed to be trapped in the encounter.
