'Black Day': Farmers mark 6 months of stir, Tikait says protest will be peaceful
Farmers protesting against Centre's farm laws observe 'Black Day' to mark 6 months of stir. Security has been tightened at all Delhi borders in the wake of farmers' protest. Protest comes even as Punjab, Haryana, Delhi are under lockdown in view of Covid. BKU leader Rakesh Tikait said the protest will be peaceful, adhering to Covid protocols. Meanwhile, people in Amritsar hoisted black flags atop their houses & on tractors to protest. Farmers demand a complete withdrawal of the three new agriculture laws. Talks between protesting farmers & Centre remain inconclusive so far. Farmers have been protesting at different Delhi borders since November 2020.
