‘Contract farming not just a business, should fulfill responsibilities’: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a webinar on the implementation of Budget 2021 provisions in the agriculture sector. Speaking on private players in the sector, PM Modi said that contract farming should not only be viewed purely as a business and added that they have a responsibility to provide the best facilities and technology to farmers of the country. PM Modi also lauded the role played by startups during the pandemic and said there is a need to encourage such startups.
