Delhi storm: Heavy rain with strong winds trigger blackouts, waterlogging

Delhi was lashed by early morning rain and strong winds which led to power cuts in some parts. Strong winds & heavy rain uprooted trees in parts of Delhi which resulted in roads getting blocked. In New Moti Bagh a tree collapsed on a vehicle. However, occupants of the car got out of the car safely. Flight operations at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport were also affected. The early morning rain brought down temperatures further after a spell of a brutal heatwave. The mercury dipped from 29 degrees Celsius at 5.40 am to 18 degrees Celsius at 7 am.
