'Historic milestone': Modi govt inks Karbi Anglong peace deal to end insurgency

Narendra Modi government has signed a historic peace Accord with Assam's Karbi outfits that seeks to end decades-old insurgency. The Accord was signed in Delhi in presence of Home Minister Amit Shah and Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Under the agreement, more than 1000 Karbi insurgents have surrendered and joined mainstream. The Karbis were fighting for a separate homeland for the Karbi ethnic community. Home Minister Amit Shah said that the Accord is a historic milestone and promised development of the Karbi region. Watch this report for more.
