IAF to get six new 'Desi' Dorniers; 'Robust' indigenous aircraft's capabilities | Explained

The Defence Ministry has sealed a deal for the procurement of six Dornier-228 aircraft for the IAF. The latest lot of the six aircraft will be procured with an upgraded fuel-efficient engine coupled with a five-bladed composite propeller. The aircraft is suited for short-haul with short runways which makes it ideal for use in North East and island chains of India.
