Iran sends tanks to Mahabad, rains artillery fire on Hijab protesters; Deadly crackdown on Kurds

Iran launched a major crackdown in a Kurdish-populated town that has seen intense anti-regime protests in the last few days. Iran's Forces sent reinforcements to the city of Mahabad in western Iran, as videos and audio files of heavy gunfire and screams flooded social media overnight. The very first demonstrations in the anti-hijab stir took place in these Kurdish-populated areas including Mahsa Amini's funeral in her hometown of Saqez, before spreading nationwide. Human Rights Groups say at least 378 people have lost their lives in the crackdown on protests, 47 of whom were children.
