The UN Security Council called for an immediate cessation of violence throughout Myanmar as the country's military coup entered a second year. The new UN special envoy for Myanmar Noeleen Heyzer said that violence has intensified since the military took power and that all sides have hardened their positions on 'using violence as a solution.'
