Watch: BJP MLAs suspended, party holds 'parallel session' outside Maha Assembly

BJP MLAs started a parallel Assembly session outside the House in Mumbai. Parallel session was called in protest against suspension of 12 of its MLAs for a year. BJP leader Kalidas Kolambkar was announced as the Speaker of their session. LoP Devendra Fadnavis also participated in the party's parallel assembly session. Earlier, MLAs protested at the state Assembly against the suspension & OBC reservation issue. BJP also held a protest in Nagpur where party workers burned effigies of CM Thackeray. Maharashtra Assembly Speaker suspended the MLAs for creating ruckus in the House. The suspended BJP MLAs met Guv Bhagat Singh Koshyari & requested his intervention. Suspended MLAs include Sanjay Kute, Ashish Shelar, Abhimanyu Pawar among others. Ruckus erupted after the Assembly had passed a resolution demanding empirical data on OBC population in Maharashtra.
