Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu received a congratulatory message from across the border. Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee's general secretary Amir Singh congratulated the newly appointed Punjab Congress President. Singh also made an appeal for the reopening of the Kartarpur corridor. “Sidhu should also take up the matter of reopening the corridor from the Indian side.
