It was a massive show of strength by the NDA today as Droupadi Murmu filed her nomination papers in the Parliament for the post of next President of India with PM Narendra Modi by her side. PM Modi had proposed her name for the nomination, which was seconded by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. She was accompanied by a host of NDA leaders to the parliament, including BJP President JP Nadda, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, chief ministers of BJP-ruled states. Leaders of YSR Congress and Biju Janata Dal - both non-NDA parties - were also in Parliament to back her nomination. Droupadi Murmu, the first woman tribal leader to file her nomination for the top constitutional post of the country, will face opposition candidate Yashwant Sinha. The presidential election would be held on July 18 and the result would be out on July 21. Watch this video for more information.
