Russia and China appear to be deepening defense-industrial cooperation again, with fresh reporting pointing to joint work on a next-generation heavy helicopter just ahead of Vladimir Putin’s planned May 19-20 visit to China. According to Sputnik, the aircraft is expected to carry around 14 to 16 tons, putting it above the Mi-171 class but still below the much heavier Mi-26 in payload capacity.
