Love tamarind? The sour delicacy is such an integral part of our cuisine that we don’t think twice before calling it an Indian condiment. In reality, it is native to tropical Africa, and was probably brought to India by Ethiopian traders over 2,000 years ago. Much of the fruits and vegetables in our bazaars originated out of India.
