Amid escalating cross-border strikes between Afghanistan and Pakistan, the state-run Bakhtar News Agency released an unverified image it claimed showed a Taliban “suicide squad” equipped with explosive vests and car bombs, allegedly prepared to hit major targets inside Pakistan. The development followed Islamabad’s Operation “Ghazab lil Haq,” which targeted sites in Kabul, Kandahar and Paktia, with Pakistan claiming heavy militant casualties. Afghan officials say retaliatory strikes reached sensitive areas near Islamabad, while clashes intensified along the Durand Line, including Paktia, Paktika and Khost. Saudi Arabia and Iran have since urged restraint to prevent wider regional fallout.
