Iran's new president-elect Masoud Pezeshkian on July 13 pitched for closer ties the European countries. Pezeshkian said that he looks "forward to engaging in constructive dialogue with European countries to set our relations on the right path, based on principles of mutual respect and equal footing." He also slammed the US for exiting the Nuclear deal in 2018 and slapping "unlawful and unilateral sanctions" on Iran's economy. Pezeshkian also accused the United States of "pitting regional countries against each other."
