A special meeting of United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) on Afghanistan was held on Tuesday in Geneva on Pakistan’s request. The meeting addressed human rights violations in Afghanistan after Taliban’s takeover of the country. India voiced its concerns around use of Afghanistan’s soil by terror groups such as Jaish-e-Mohammed & Lashkar-e-Taiba. India also reiterated its concerns around violations of rights of women, children & minorities. The UNHRC’s Chief too voiced grave concerns on the situation in Afghanistan & said that Taliban’s treatment of women will mark a fundamental ‘red line’.
