Voters in Nepal, made beeline on April 10 to cast their votes with the hope of, putting an end to a 240 year long monarchy. The election was a key demand of the Maoists. A dozen of people have died in election-related violence. Several have been injured in clashes between rival parties. Nepal's 17.6 million voters will elect 240 members through a first-past-the-post electoral system, and another 335 candidates through the proportional electoral system.
