About The Video

An American illustrator, Emory Allen has created an animation video dedicated to Laika, the first dog in space. Laika was launched into space on November 3, 1957 from the Soviet Union and she died during her historic flight. The video is based on an eight-line verse “Triolet for Laika, First Dog in Space” by Ann Kolakowski, which tells the story of the dog that would never return home. During the short film viewers see the build up to Laika's journey into space, with the dog presented in almost human form.
