‘Share hostage information…to live in peace’: Israel's offer to Gazans
The IDF earlier confirmed that 222 hostages were being held captive since the Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israel on October 7.
The Israeli Defence Force made a request from the civilians of Gaza however with a deterrence asking for a ‘humanitarian deed’ and share actionable information about the locations of hostages where the Hamas has kept them in captivity. The Israeli military, on X (formerly Twitter), offered money for giving information for them to carry out rescue operation.

“If your will is to live in peace and to have a better future for your children, do the humanitarian deed immediately and share verified and valuable information about hostages being held in your area,” the IDF said and shared the details to contact them.
The Gazan Islamist group has recently released two elderly Israeli nationals who were held captive for over two weeks citing humanitarian pressure amid negotiations held predominantly by Qatar.
Hamas stormed into Israel from the Gaza Strip on October 7, and killed at least 1,400 people, mostly civilians who were shot or burnt to death on the first day of the raid, according to Israeli officials.
In response, the Israeli retaliation in a bid to ‘demolish Hamas’ has taken lives of over 5,500 Palestinians, according to Gaza's health ministry.
