Pranab Mukherjee to visit Nepal in November
President Pranab Mukherjee is scheduled to visit Nepal in the first week of November and date will be announced during the India visit of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘ Prachanda’ beginning from Thursday.
President Pranab Mukherjee is likely to visit Nepal in the first week of November, in the first such trip in 28 years.
The Indian president’s visit will take place most likely on November 3, said Prakash Sharan Mahat, Nepal’s foreign affairs minister said on Tuesday. Nepal has already extended an invitation, he said.
Mahat, who returned after a three-day official visit to India, said some specific projects will be discussed during Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda’s upcoming visit to India, including those related to energy and power.
PM Prachanda will seek India’s “ welcome” of Nepal’s constitution. India has only “noted” the promulgation of the new constitution last September.
During the one-on-one talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Prachanda will seek India’s support and goodwill on the new constitution in order to address the demands of agitating Madeshi parties, a close aide to Prachanda told Hindustan Times.
