Medical sources said the death occurred after an apartment near the Egyptian camp in northern Nuseirat was struck. In separate incidents, two people were injured in a drone explosion in Al-Zaytoun, while a woman was seriously wounded by gunfire in Al-Salatin, Beit Lahia.

President Donald Trump said the US military has been carrying out a "secret mission" since last month to move oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz without interference from Iranian forces.

He said tankers were travelling at night and were helped by the destruction of Iranian radar systems.

Trump claimed that, as a result, more than 100 million barrels of oil have bypassed Iran's grip on the strait. There was no immediate verification of that figure, which is roughly equivalent to five days of oil shipments through the waterway before the conflict started.

US-Iran war LIVE: India strongly condemned attacks on merchant shipping amid the ongoing conflict involving Iran, telling the UNSC that several Indian nationals have been killed or remain missing because of attacks in the region.
