Cox opens up on potential of further arrests

While taking questions from journalists, the Utah Governor was asked whether there is potential for further arrests. Cox said that he believes that the suspect acted alone, adding, “We do not have information at this time that would lead to additional arrests, but the investigation is ongoing,” as reported by CBS News.

Cox added that Robinson is currently being held at the Utah County jail. He was taken into custody with the help of the suspect's family member, who told a friend, and then it was relayed to a Sheriff that the 22-year-old confessed or implied he had committed the incident, as per the BBC. The Governor expressed gratitude towards Robinson's family, who he said “did the right thing” by turning him in.

Cox also revealed that a family member said that Robinson had become “more political” recently and recalled that he mentioned Kirk was going to visit Utah Valley University during a dinner before September 10.
