An Interior Ministry spokeswoman says the injured, all adults, were in cable chairs that fell several meters to the ground in the accident on Monday.

The official says the injured have been treated mostly for cuts and bruises at a medical center in the small town of Pradollano. She says none needs to be admitted to hospital.

Spanish National Radio says snow on the ground cushioned the fall.

The official was speaking on condition of anonymity in keeping with ministry regulations.
