Security officials said that two missiles hit a house where the militants were taking shelter in Datta Khel town, 40 km west of Miranshah in North Waziristan district, Geo News reported.

At least 15 other people were injured in the attacks, Dawn News said.

According to reports, the dead were Taliban militants. The report put the toll at 24.

"We have received reports that at least 24 people have died in the attack while several more are injured" an intelligence official was quoted as saying.

"The drone attack took place when local Taliban were holding a meeting at the compound," he said. "The exact identity of those killed is not determined yet, since Taliban have cordoned off the area. We have to see if there was some important commander among the dead."
