The news agency quotes police official Sadeen Idris as saying the accident occurred on Saturday when the bus was trying to overtake a car at high speed and slammed into an oncoming minibus.
He says fifteen other people were wounded.
Road accidents are common in Sudan due to bad roads, overused cars and a lack of adequate traffic control.
