"As we continue to serve the current administration, we are also in touch with President-elect Obama and his national security team," said Central Intelligence Agency director Mike Hayden in a letter to CIA employees obtained by AFP.

"Through expanded access, greater than what he had in his briefings as a candidate or as a senator, he will see the full range of capabilities we deploy for the United States."

The agency was to meet yesterday morning to discuss the transition period leading up to Obama's inauguration on January 20.

"We have already prepared a great deal of information about CIA for the Obama team," Hayden wrote.
