Delta jet skids off runway at LaGuardia airport, crashes through fence

A Delta plane has skidded off a runway while landing at LaGuardia Airport, and it appears the nose of the jet is resting against a fence.

A Delta plane has skidded off a runway while landing at LaGuardia Airport, and it appears the nose of the jet is resting against a fence.

The Fire Department of New York says no injuries have been reported.

Port Authority of New York and New Jersey spokesman Joe Pentangelo says the MD-80 went off the runway at about 11:10am on Thursday.

Photos show the plane in the snow, with its nose appearing to touch a fence. Passengers are getting off the plane and walking through the snow.

Pentangelo says the plane is apparently leaking fuel.

It isn't clear how many people were on board or where the flight had originated.
