Doctors treating Ariel Sharon will meet on Monday to decide if they can bring the Israeli prime minister out of his coma in the coming hours, a hospital spokesman said.

"Everything will be decided after the doctors' consultations," Yael Bossem-Levy said.

Sharon, 77, was expected to be awoken gradually from a deep medically-induced coma on Monday to enable his doctors to assess the extent of damage to his brain following a massive stroke.
