At least 97 people have been killed in flash floods and landslides in several Vietnamese provinces since on Friday, a media report said on Monday.

The floods affected 10 Vietnamese provinces of Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Phu Tho, Quang Ninh, Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Bac Can, Lang Son, Thai Nguyen and Lai Chau, the Young People newspaper reported.
Around 38 people have been injured and 48 missing after the floods, the report said quoting an official report.
Lao Cai province was the hardest hit with 36 deaths, while in Yen Bai province 35 people have died.
The government has instructed the local authorities to beef up relief measures.
Local residents and government soldiers were involved in the flood relief work.
