China welcomes and supports the dialogue between India and Pakistan to settle their differences and build mutual trust, Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang told a media briefing in Beijing.

His remarks came in response to a question on the meeting between External Affairs Minister S M Krishna and his Pakistani counterpart Shah Mahmood Qureshi in Islamabad.

"Both India and Pakistan are neighbours of China. The improvement in India-Pak relations is not only beneficial to South Asia's peace and stability but also peace, stability and development of the whole of Asia," he said.
