A water tank constructed with financial assistance from India was donated to one of Nepal's oldest monastic schools.

India's Ambassador to Nepal, Rakesh Sood handed over the newly constructed water tank to Shree Mahakaruna Sakyapa Vidyalaya, located in Lomanthang VDC of Upper Mustang.

The school, situated in a remote area was deprived of drinking water facility.

India provided NRs 1.09 million ($0.0144) as grant assistance for the construction of water tank.

Earlier, India had provided an assistance of NRs 25.10 million ($0.333) for construction of school building, hostel, monk and teacher quarter and the infrastructure for the Vidyalaya.

Lomanthang is a famous tourist destination as well as a Buddhist pilgrimage site, where thousands of tourists visit every year.
