Hatoyama added that Wen had said China would do its best to ensure that there was a successful outcome from U.N.-led talks on a new global framework to tackle climate change, due to be held in Copenhagen in December.

Hatoyama was speaking to reporters after a trilateral summit with leaders from China and South Korea, held in Beijing.
